Folder selection and importing

Why can't CX Music Player scan my whole iPhone?

iOS keeps apps sandboxed. CX Music Player can inspect only a folder you explicitly choose in Apple's Files picker. Tap Choose Music Folder, browse to On My iPhone, iCloud Drive, an external drive, or an enabled File Provider, and select the directory that contains your audio.

Why does import use extra storage?

Access to the selected iOS folder is temporary. CX Music Player copies the tracks you confirm into private Application Support storage so they remain playable offline and after relaunch. The imported-music directory is marked excluded from device backups. Keep enough free space for the copies. Your original files are not changed.

The scan found podcasts or sound effects

Before confirming import, deselect any listed subfolder that does not contain music. You can cancel without importing and choose a narrower folder if that is easier.

No tracks were found
  1. Confirm the files are inside the selected directory or one of its subfolders.
  2. Confirm their extensions are MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, AIFF, AIF, CAF, or FLAC.
  3. In Files, tap a cloud file and wait for it to download, then scan again.
  4. Try a small local folder under On My iPhone to isolate a File Provider issue.

Playback

A listed track will not play

An extension does not guarantee that its internal codec is playable. Confirm the source file opens elsewhere, is fully downloaded, is not zero-byte or corrupt, and is not DRM-protected. Apple Music subscription downloads are not ordinary Files audio and are not supported. If one track fails, the rest of the library should remain usable.

Lock Screen or Control Center buttons are stale

Return to CX Music Player, start the intended track, and lock the phone again. If the problem persists, pause playback, close and reopen CX Music Player, and include the iPhone model, iOS version, app version, audio format, and exact steps in a support email.

Playback paused during a call or route change

iOS can interrupt audio for calls, alarms, Siri, another media app, or when headphones disconnect. Resume playback when it is safe. If audio comes from the wrong output, choose the desired route in Control Center.

Library, storage, and privacy

How do I remove CX Music Player data?

Remove imported music through CX Music Player's library controls. Deleting CX Music Player from the iPhone removes every app-owned audio copy, its SQLite index, queue state, and preferences. Original source files remain in Files unless you delete them there.

Does CX Music Player collect my music or listening history?

No. CX Music Player v1 has no account, backend, ads, analytics, or tracking, and it does not upload selected audio, filenames, the library index, or playback state to us or an app-integrated service. Apple and selected File Providers may independently handle downloads or backups. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.
